Scouting, On The TV

The Everday Adventure TV series ran on the Community Channel from January through to June 2009. The series looked at Scouting’s work in local communities and explained everything you wanted to know about Scouting but were afraid to ask!

Episode 1 – What Scouting Means Today

An introduction to what Scouting is and how it works, showing how the Movement can help make life an Everyday Adventure. This includes some things you might know about Scouting, and some you might not.

Episode 2 – How Scouting Fits Around You

This Episode of Everyday Adventure shows how Scouting can fit around our busy lifestyles. We find out that it's not only great for young people, but also extremely rewarding for adults. Find out how to use your skills and help others.

Episode 3 – Why Adults Join Scouting and What Makes Them Stay

This episode of Everyday Adventure looks at the benefits for adults who volunteer their time for Scouting. Nearly 100,000 adults currently volunteer.

Episode 4 – Young People Helping Young People
 

Scouting gives young people a chance to develop their leadership skills from the age of 14. This programme examines the benefits of becoming young leaders.

Episode 5 – Celebrating Diversity

Locally and nationally, Scouting aims to reflect the community in which it operates. This episode looks at some examples of how diversity can enhance the adventure of Scouting.

Episode 6 – New Opportunities in Scouting

This episode looks at modern Scouting in urban and rural areas, in schools and in hospitals.
