The City of Portsmouth Scouts support the Mayor of Winchester's Charities for 2008-9

Mike Read, a Deputy City Commissioner and member of the City of Portsmouth Scout Fellowship has been inaugurated as the 809th Mayor of Winchester. Members of Mick's family, together with friends and members of the Scout Fellowship were present at the Mayor making in the Winchester Guildhall on 14th May.

As the incoming Mayor of Winchester he has organized a number of events to raise monies for his chosen charities which includes coffee mornings, carol service and a number of other significant events.

His chosen charities for this year are The Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance Service, The Rowans Hospice and the Scout Association (Pinsent Campsite and Solent Scout Training Centre at Shedfield).
